Edward Ahlf Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ed was born March 18, 1918, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of William H. and Adeline S. (Shotwell) Ahlf. He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1936 and went on to serve his Country in the United States Navy during World War II. On December 19, 1940, he was united in marriage to Irene J. Deems in Muscatine. She died April 20, 2001. He was employed as office manager at Kent Feeds, Inc. in Waterloo, retiring on January 31, 1981. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls; BPOE #290 in Waterloo and Triune Lodge #641 A.F. & A.M. in Muscatine. Ed is survived by his children, Edward D. Ahlf of Clinton, Denise A. (Glen) Monson of Dixon, IL, and William A. (Paula) Ahlf of Altoona; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Grzybek of Waterloo, Nicole Clausen of Cedar Falls, Debra Sells and Susan Hughes, both of Sycamore, IL, John Monson of Sugar Grove, IL, Kelli Peno of Norwalk, and Beau Wittkowski of Swan; eleven great grandchildren, David and Daniel Haeffner, Ben Sells, William and Olivia Clausen, Nissa Kinyon, Lillian Siebrands, Dominick and Grant Peno, and Cindel and Robert Wittowski; and special friend, Pat Majerus of Cedar Falls. Ed died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, in emergency room at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents.
