V. Carole Martin (1948-2020) CEDAR FALLS – Carole Martin, 72, of Annapolis, Maryland died Sunday, December 20th at the Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls. She was born October 15, 1948 in Washington, DC, daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Thomas) Brogan. Carole graduated from Crossland High School in 1966. She then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Maryland - College Park in 1970. While attending UMCP Carole was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and was a Varsity Cheerleader. Finally, Carole obtained her Master of Special Education from College of Notre Dame - MD in 2003. On June 17th, 1972, Carole married Larry C. Martin in Suitland, MD. Having started her career as a Physical Education instructor in Prince George’s County, Maryland, she last taught at the Harbour School in Annapolis, MD, as a Special Education teacher. Carole was a long time member and active volunteer of Broadneck Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Arnold, Maryland. Carole loved her children and grandchildren, the great outdoors, traveling this wonderful country and especially the beach. Survived by her husband, Larry of Cedar Falls; two children: Brande (Daniel) Orr of Woodbury, MN, and Cody (Elizabeth) Martin of Pennington, NJ; two grandchildren: Jamison and Julian Martin; and her sister: Sally Brogan of Bowie, MD. Carole will always be remembered as a wonderful, loving, caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, friend and person, with the most beautiful smile. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials to honor Carole’s life can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
