Dorothy Kugel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothy was born May 21, 1916, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Philura Etta (Warren) Pothast. On January 26, 1934, she was united in marriage to Harvey W. Brocka in Waterloo, IA. He died October 13, 1938. She then married Henry C. Kugel January 26, 1940 in Preston, MN. He died October 13, 1987. She was employed at Steamboat Gardens and Geerling Feeds, both in Waterloo, retiring in 1973. She then moved with Henry to Florida, returning to New Hartford in 1996. Dorothy is survived by six sons, Willie (Darlyne) Brocka of Janesville, Everett Brocka of Estero, FL, Henry (Judy) Kugel of Yelm, WA, Robert (Pamela) Kugel of Winslow, AR, Eddie (Connie) Kugel of New Hartford and John (Ruth) Kugel of Ogden; two daughters, Tammy (Jim) Ernst of Coon Rapids and Tangy Wormley (fianc? Jerry Barloon) of Parkersburg; step son, Don (Daisy) Brocka of Tucson, AZ; thirty grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Dorothy died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, four sons, Harold (1952), Steven (1956), Richard (1991) and Kenneth (1993); grandson, James Ernst Jr.; five brothers, Charles, William, Chas Jr., Jimmy and Edward and sisters, Olive, Mae, Esther and Berdine.
