Helen Moore Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Helen was born February 7, 1909, the daughter of Lewis and Margaret (Hutton) Blanchard. At the age of 5 years, her mother passed away, so she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. William Blanchard. She graduated from Coon Rapids High School. On February 20, 1928, she was united in marriage to Henry W. Moore at the home of her aunt and uncles in Coon Rapids. He died July 11, 1972 in Rochester, MN. Helen was a member of the Glidden United Methodist Church, the U.M.W. Electa Circle, Sew ad So Club and a faithful attendant of the Senior Citizens meetings. She moved to Cedar Falls in June of 1993 where she joined First Presbyterian Church. Helen is survived by four daughters, Sally Hellwig of Waterloo, Mary J. Bone of Des Moines, Virginia Van Horn of Blaine, MN and Donna Sue Parks of Hagerstown, Maryland; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Helen died Friday, October 3, 2003 at the Western Home Communities-Martin Center in Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons, Jerry Moore, H. Stephen Moore, and Robert Moore in infancy; sister, Sybil Pevestorf and five brothers, Leo, Harold, Claude, Francis and Harry Blanchard.
