Jesse Adelmund

Jesse Gene Adelmund, age 71, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday February 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Jess was born on December 8,1953, at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of John and Dorothy (Abbas) Adelmund. He attended New Hartford High School, graduating in 1972. He worked at the Skelly gas station in New Hartford during High School and a year after graduation he began working at Viking Pump most of those years on the melt deck, he worked there for 43 years, retiring in 2016. Jess was married to Brenda Sue Williamson on June 21st, 1975. They were later divorced, but they remained great friends throughout his life. And from their union came 2 sons, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Jess’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially time spent at E. Battle Lake in Minnesota. His family will remember him for so many things, but one thing they would all agree on is, he always showed up, he was always there for them, every game, every birthday, every time they needed help, they knew without a doubt he would be there. He left an amazing legacy of love that touched the lives of everyone he met and he left this world and everyone he met better for having known him. Jess’s memory is honored by: two sons, Chad (Tami) Adelmund of La Porte City, IA and Eric (Jenny) Adelmund of Nevada Iowa; grandchildren, Allie Adelmund, Kody (Brooke) Adelmund, John (Alana) Adelmund, Breiane Adelmund (Mason), Catelynn (Zach) Rankin, Tony Adelmund (Ella), Noah Adelmund (Cody), Shae (Cody) Wiederien, and Lucas Fry; great grandchildren: Kaden, Emelia, Owen and soon to be baby Rankin; his siblings, Marilyn Buss, Jim (Diane) Adelmund and Floyd Adelmund all of New Hartford, Barb Adelmund of Cedar Falls, Sharon Hartema of Parkersburg, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: his parents; a grandson Jackson Adelmund; four brothers, John, Pete, Alan, and Frank Adelmund; nephew, Jake Adelmund; nieces, Sandy Siebrands, Dawn Hartema and Colleen Adelmund; brother-in-law, Roy Buss; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Adelmund and Marie Adelmund. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 10am at Heartland Community Church in La Porte City, IA, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Chad Adelmund officiating. A luncheon will be served at Heartland immediately following service. A private family burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford.
