Margery Wrage

Margery Lee Wrage, 91, died on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Shell Rock Healthcare Center. She was born on July 18, 1934, in Traer, Iowa, the daughter of Jim and Fannie (Dalziel) Stevenson. She graduated from Traer High School in 1952 before attending Hawkeye Tech, where she was the first woman to receive a degree in Police Science. On December 27, 1952, she was united in marriage to Marvin Wrage in Traer. She cherished the memory of that day as it ended with a memorable snowstorm. They were married for 59 years before Marv sadly passed away in October of 2012. As a result of their union, they had five children. Tragedy struck when Marge and Marv lost their first child, Allen, due to a car accident. Through this grief Marge was able to work with Governor Branstad to create a law that provides birth certificates for births that end in stillbirth. Marge was very involved with Compassionate Friends, a grief support group for families that have gone through similar losses. Marge loved decorating her house for the holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. From motocross races to wrestling meets, you could find her out and about supporting her community. Marge is survived by her sons, Steven (Julie Brevig) Wrage and Bret (Paula) Wrage, daughter-in-law, Becky Wrage; grandchildren, Wes (Crystal) Wrage, Leslie (Ryan) Bochmann, Clint Wrage, Zac (Ashley) Wrage, Chelsey Adams, Dylan (Wendy Bienemann) Wrage, Axel (Katie) Wrage, Kari (John) Bonnet, and Tia (Chad) Case; great grandchildren, Gabbie Wrage, Danica Wrage, Briggs Bochmann, Aliyah Wrage, Cayden, Cash and Cael Adams, Millie Wrage, Walt, Grant, Lilly and Sam Bonnet, Chloe and Kyler Kramer, Cloey and Remi Case, and sisters, Dorothy Scott and Willa Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marv; children, Allen Wrage, Bobbi Bryant, and Wade Wrage; daughter-in-law Debbie Wrage; and great grandson, Kye Case. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Cedar Falls.
