Paul Koefoed Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Paul was born September 30, 1920, in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the son of Hans Edward and Florence (Fredricksen) Koefoed. He attended Cedar Falls High School and graduated from Dike High School. On February 28, 1942, he was united in marriage to Calleta Louise Pringle in Newton, Iowa. He was employed with the Civilian Conservation Corps at Backbone State Park from 1939-40, then was a tool maker at a shipyard in Bremerton, WA during World War II and finally was with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 40 years, starting as a tool maker and retiring in September of 1980 as Quality Engineer in the Methods Engineering Dept. He was a member of Black Hawk Lodge #65 AF & AM Paul is survived by his wife Calleta of Cedar Falls; sons, Norman C. (Ivy) Koefoed of Cantrall, IL and Martin P. (Linda) Koefoed of Sterling, VA; daughter, Martha Ann (Dale) Main of McKees Rock, PA; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Felkner of Centerville, IA and Winnona George of El Centro, CA and step brother, Ercil McWilliams of Dumont, IA. Paul died Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Lageschulte.
